About Us

Our values are at the heart of everything we do. Why? Because the people we serve day-to-day aren’t just our customers, but our neighbors. Integrity. Commitment. Accountability. Relationships. Diligence. At Freehold Bank, those are not just words—they’re a way of life.

Our History

Freehold Bank is Monmouth County’s oldest savings institution. Based on over 167 years of service, we have remained a strong and stable financial institution in New Jersey.

The Bank was founded on September 12, 1853 as the Freehold Mutual Loan Association, a name that was retained until 1955. Thereafter, re-named to Freehold Savings and Loan Association which was then reorganized into a three-tier mutual holding company structure on January 1, 2009 by forming a top-tier mutual holding company, Freehold MHC, and a mid-tier stock holding company, Freehold Bancorp. Common stock was not offered to depositors or the general public in connection with the reorganization and the name was changed to Freehold Savings Bank.  On October 29, 2019, the Bank’s name was changed to Freehold Bank.
